Satoshi RoundTable Conference, January 30th – February 4th, 2025 – Recap
The Satoshi RoundTable is an exclusive annual gathering of the cryptocurrency industry’s key players, held in a private and informal environment where participants can freely discuss current events, obstacles, and opportunities in the blockchain space. Attendees include notable Bitcoin/Ethereum CEOs, developers, entrepreneurs, investors, and early adopters.
The RoundTable is an invitation-only event focused on the broader blockchain ecosystem. Key features include:
- Limited in size to include – only leading industry members.
- All-inclusive resort setting with meals, activities, and in-depth discussions.
- Location and venue prioritize privacy and security.
- No press, media, or pitches all discussions are off the record.
- Organic, decentralized agenda set by the participants.
- Networking, recreation, and collaborative learning.
Now in its eleventh year, the Satoshi RoundTable is characterized by high-level private discussions in a relaxed, exclusive setting. The event brings together top developers, founders, scientists, academics, and investors to share knowledge and explore the future of blockchain technology.
The Sidetable events are smaller, more focused conferences held throughout the year where attendees can dive deeper into discussions around specific crypto and fintech trends and topics. These “unconference” style events prioritize participant-generated learning and organic discussion.

The event began in a huge presentation hall in the hotel, given that we had the entire hotel to ourselves, with a general announcement by the organizers, Bruce Fenton and his team. Inspirational words to kick off the weekend, to motivate and fire up the imagination. Last year’s opening presentation was absolute fire, where Bruce pointed out the evils of interest and the need for a fair financial system, and this year’s presentation was equally inspiring, highlighting the huge responsibilities we have to build for our futures and to create wonderful things. Much like how IBM changed the future with the invention of the GUI in a meeting just like ours, we too can shape the next 20-30 years. This is what I love about the Bitcoin community as a whole – the desire to develop tools for mankind, working for everyone’s financial freedom, the goals of the libertarian cypherpunks.
Then the rules of the evening were laid out:
- No doxing people’s presence or their opinions without their consent
- Place your discussion topics on the board and see if your ideas align with others’
- If you suggest a topic and session, you must lead that session
- Treat everyone with respect and fairness, here to discuss, benefit and be benefited
- Have a position, but listen as much as you speak
- Never assume someone has more or less knowledge than you on a topic
- Simple ingredients for a simple yet powerful dish. Then the next day we discuss.
There were many amazing topics; I wish I could have attended them all, but I was unable due to the hour slots given. So here is a brief summary and small glimpse of what occurred. In previous RoundTable sessions, summaries were recorded by Jameson Lopp, but this year, I decided to take up the mantle, continue his legacy and pick up as many gems as I was able to capture.
